SATOYAMA TOKYO Shooting tour #2-2 Hinohara

Do you think there is a village in Tokyo? - Yes, there is!
Just only one village in Tokyo called " Hinohara-mura".
"Hinohara" means the field or forest of Chamaecyparis obtusa and "Mura" means a village.

The next destination was in Hinohara called Hossawa Falls!

There are some uphill points on the way, but it is worth going by a bike when the weather is really nice and warm as you can enjoy the landscape & a breath of the fresh clean mountain air!

We took a short break at Akigawa gorge on the way.

Seemed like the peak season for Autum foliage was almost gone, but we could see
some colorful autumn trees and they liked a shape of the Japanese maple leaf.

After the short break, finally headed for the fall.

It is spectacular plunging about 60 meters over a wooded cliff into a shallow pool and known as one of selected one hundred falls in Japan.
You can actually visit there in all season. It lit up for selected dates in the summer and frozen up in the coldest winter.

Need to get through this narrow muddy path to reach the fall, but once you find the fall, you will forget how rough the path is.

On the way, you can also find the coffee shop offering a variety of pottery and *Konnyaku food in the pot! You can stop by to warm up yourself by the food and drink.

*Konnyaku - has become its local food made from Konnyaku Yawn.
Konnyaku yawn is grown well in the area, so the local people make konnyaku in their daily life.

To be continued...
