The season is changing from winter to spring !

The season is changing slowly but steadily from winter to spring. Here is the Japanese plum blossoming. The Japanese plum blossoms from February through March.

Only a few weeks ago, it snowed heavily all over Tokyo. Especially around this area, trees, fields and mountains are covered with a thick layer of snow.

“Setsubun“ Scattering soy beans

Setsubun literally means the division of seasons in lunar calendar. However, setsubun is now used for the day before the first day of spring only. It usually occurs around February 3rd. In a custom, people throw and scatter soy beans inside and outside their houses while saying "Get goblins out of the house! Invite happiness into the home!", to drive away evil matter and pray for their health.

In some temples and shrines. setsubun events are held every year. At “Daihiganji” temple, “Ohayasi” (a traditional festival musical in Japan) and Scattering soy beans are held this year.

“Daihiganji” is historical temple which was founded in 1191, and there are some designated cultural properties like the statue, the main hall of the temple and wooden gates. This temple has the “Shirahagi” (a white bush clover), which Masamune DATE( the famous feudal warlord around 1600) loved.

The final destination is our favorite place to invite guests. Look at this amazing restaurant and dishes used local food. Some serving dishes are made of natural materials like bamboo, large leaves, or sometimes fruits.
