SATOYAMA TOKYO Shooting tour #2-4 Akiruno

The next destination was "Seotono-yu onsen" (瀬音の湯) located just 5 mins away by a bike from Ryuju-In.

On the way, we had a Japanese steamed bun called "Oyaki". This oyaki place is very small and hard to find for visitors, but somehow I saw many
people stopping by. (= Meaning highly recommended :D)

<- Oyaki with pasted red beans inside.
Very yummy!

At Seotono-yu, they had a foot bath. This hot spring comes up from 1500 meters underground and it is good for your skin as it contains highly alkaline. This type of hot spring is popular among young women.

After the bath,  We took a short break for the next activity.

After Seotono-yu, we headed a cafe called "Ichibankan" for Dorayaki (Japanese pancakes sandwiched with sweet red bean paste & Maccha (Finely grounded green tea powder).

Actually this cafe used to be a kimono fabric store founded in 1902. The local people decided to renovate the store to remain the old house as one of the historical architectures in the area when the store was about to be closed.

They reopened the house for public in 2013.
Once you go inside, you can feel as if you were like in 1960's by its interior.

This dorayaki pancake is made with charcoal powder, so the color is totally black..

After the cafe we dropped off our bikes at the rental shop..
The time was around 5pm. and the sky was getting dark already...

After the lunch break, we went to the Indigo dyeing studio. We can experience the indigo dyeing in the authentic, traditional method at this factory.

That was really fun and not that difficult. Furthermore, we can take our work home.
This is one of the best place to experience Japanese traditional craftwork in Tokyo.

Next cultural site is sake brewery. We got guided tour inside the brewery and the premise.
This historical architecture was built about 200 years ago.

After the informative program, we sampled the new brewed sake.
That was totally fresh and delicious.

SATOYAMA TOKYO Shooting tour #2-3 Hinohara~Akiruno

After Hossawa Waterfall, We had a lunch break at ”Tachibana-ya” near the fall.

The restaurant specializes in serving a ramen made with home-made noodles as well as other dishes like curry, a set menu with fried pork or grilled beef and grilled fish, some donburis (Donburi =a rice bowl) and so on.

”We need more calories for the afternoon! ”

Let's head for the next destination ”Otsu”.

Otsu(乙津) area in Akiruno has been known as the best photo spot because various flowers bloom from season to season. Especially in Spring and Fall, you could see beautiful cherry blossoms, Tsutsuji, Nanohana and Autumn foliage. It is like a natural painting that attracts many people.

                                Stopped by Ryushu-In(龍珠院) - a temple found in 1363!

This temple is also called "a flower temple" as being surrounded by numbers of various flowers.

You could meet 20 of Zizo statues along the way to the main hall like the left pic.

It was the best time for visiting to see the colorful foliage.

                           Local produced vegetables on sale!
Just put coins into the middle red box to buy them.

What's going on there??  -  Checking inside of the mail hall.
