Iris flowers bloom during June. You can see around hundred thousand of iris flowers that have a great variety of colors in this garden.
In the Edo period (1603-1867), many daimyo, a feudal lord, loved these purple flowers and later it became popular among ordinary people. Therefore various types of iris have been born and those were exported to Europe and America.
White and orange flowers that is called licorice also can be seen in this
garden on September.

Interesting blog, it reminds me of Tokyo at Asakusa Temple, the complex resembles the Edo-period site, with several imposing gates, including the Kaminarimon or the Thunder Gate, with its iconic giant red lantern, and a five-story pagoda.
ReplyDeleteI tried to write a blog about it, hope you also like : http://stenote.blogspot.hk/2018/04/tokyo-at-asakusa-temple.html
